Mastering mindfulness

It  sounds  a  bit  wishy-washy  doesn’t  it?  Meditating,  finding  your  centre  and  being  mindful.  Even  if  you  were  that  sort  of  person,  finding  the  time  to  even  figure  out  where  to  start  isn’t  easy  —  especially  if  you’re  as  lazy  as  me.    Given  the  pressures  on  lazy  cats  like  you  and  I  to  keep  up  with  the  expectations  of  daily  life  it  hardly  seems  worth  bothering  trying  to  squeeze  mindfulness  practices  in.  However,  the  busier  you  are,  the  more  beneficial  taking  a  moment  to  either  be...

Give all of the fucks

“Zero fucks given.” It’s becoming a popular phrase bandied about when we want to imply we don’t care about something. But, let’s be honest, more often than not we do care. Here’s why I think we should give all of the f*cks and learn to honestly face why things affect us so that we can let them go. It keeps popping open at inconvenient times, like when you’re trying to sleep, to remind you of all the little things that make you feel like crap. So, I propose we acknowledge that we do, in fact, give a fuck and deal with these issues head on. Don’t react in the moment This...

Why routines aren’t bad

You always hear that things are just routine. Something that’s dull, repetitive and can imply you’re stuck in a rut. We should ditch routines and live completely wild and free, shouldn’t we? However, creating small routines in your daily life can be the key to freeing you to live whatever life you want. I don’t like routine. I prefer to think of myself as free to roam and do things in my own way. However, I have found that developing small routines that I perform in exactly the same way each time I approach a task or time of day lets me keep moving while maintaining the order that is necessary for a peaceful mind. Wakey-wakey There are loads of articles on the internet about why a good morning routine can help you be more successful in life and business. They include anything from morning workout time, when to have your coffee and how long to ignore your emails for. I say, screw all that and think smaller. Think about the essential things you must do before your day can begi...
